The genius that is RZA, has remixed song off of the wonderful Adrian Younge’s new and upcoming album, Something About April II.
The song is titled “Hands of God”, and features Karolina and Sterelab’s Laetitia Sadier. The track is pretty great and holds true to that one-of-a-kind sound which RZA is known for creating. The song exudes a sound that is hard to place your finger on, and by that I mean you cannot pin-point exactly what style it is. According to Stereogum, the album which houses the mixed-track, “Hands of God” was inspired by Ennio Morricone’s score for The Hateful Eight. Ghostface Killah, fellow memeber of Wu-Tang, has also had Younge work with him on his album – Twelve Reasons To Die II.
Adrian Younge is an American producer known for his sonic thumbprint; it is heavily influenced by the sounds of the 1960s and 1970s, especially pertaining to the psychedelic sound of those particular decades. He has worked with the likes of such greatness which include (but are not limited to) Ghostface Killah and the infamous Jay-Z.
RZA has always been known as an innovator and a specialist in the workings of making music. He has truly mastered his craft. There is no one else like him in the industry, and the legacy he’s created for himself tells it all: A contributor to the sound of other artists, film, and of course, to a group which has forced all other hip-hop connoisseurs to bow down, Wu-Tang Clan. His mix of Younge’s “Hands of God” proves no different.
