Some bands come and go, and some bands are so influencial that their fanbase never wavers, and they are always in popular demand.
AC/DC is absolutely one of those bands, and the fact they are leading musicians in ticket sales, proves the longevity the band has maintained, while still remaining one of the most beloved acts in rock and roll.

It has been learned that AC/DC has had more sales in concert tickets this year then industry heavyweights like Taylor Swift. According to Blabbermouth, AC/DC sold an impressive 2.31 million tickets to Swift’s sales of 2.27. That is incredibly awesome and such a worthy compliment to the band that has been rocking the stages since before Taylor Swift was even born. Although it should be noted that AC/DC had 15 more shows than Swift, but still, those ticket sales are incredibly impressive.

Some of the other artists who had remarkable ticket sales this year inlcude the highly-popular One Direction, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Madonna and The Rolling Stones. Cheers to AC/DC for holding it down through the decades and continuing to tour so tha their fans may have the wonderful opportunity of a great, live AC/DC show.

Also found in the Blabbermouth article, is a a statement Angus Young made some time ago to Pulse Radio regading their nature of touring.”Somebody once had said, ‘You know, people know what they like and like what they know,'” he said. “In the beginning, we were a, you know, just a rock ‘n’ roll band, and, you know, when you would play in bars and clubs and stuff, you know, this is what the audience was coming to hear you for.”

Despite drug charges that followed drummer Phil Rudd in November 2014, the band still managed to top the list of highest-paid tour in the industry this year. That is pretty incredible. It just goes to show that great and pure music will alwsy preside over momentary fads, gossip and trends.
