The Kings of Leon are releasing a new album for next year. The new album will be their newest album in three years since their 2013 Mechanical Bull album.
As part of Kings of Leon New Years Resolution for the band, the post production for making the record would start early in the new year. “We’ve already started pre-production in our studio for the next record, but the main thing on the calendar for 2016 is getting the record finished,” said drummer Nathan Followil in an interview, “2016 is going to be a good year, I got a feeling.” The new album might sound more promising than the resolutions made by the members of Kings of Leon themselves. Nathan plans to lose some weight and his brother Caleb wants to live more in the moment.
The new album that will come out next year will be recorded in Los Angeles instead of Nashville, in an attempt to change the scenery and the sound of the music on their newest album. “Our first two albums we recorded in L.A., so we’re going to try to go back and see if it inspires us,” Caleb said in his interview with Sirius XM Alt’s Nation. “If it doesn’t, we always have a studio at home, so we can always come back.” Kings of Leon will be performing at the New Year’s Eve celebration in Nashville to welcome in the year 2016.
