Australia’s Soundwave Festival Announces 2016 Cancellation And End Of Festival

Soundwave is an annual traveling music festival that visits several destinations in Austrailia. The festival began in Perth, Austrailia around 2004. Soundwave usually books several mainstream metal, rock, and punk bands. This year, five weeks before, the festival has been cancelled due to insufficient funds.

Promoter AJ Maddah attributes the cancellation to, “poor ticket sales”. This year’s headliners included Disturbed and Bring Me The Horizon, next year’s festival was set to feature the Deftones, the Prodigy, NOFX, Public Enemy, Refused, L7, Hatebreed, and Walls Of Jericho, among many others. Maddah revealed that the festival will not be back in 2017 and that “i wish we could’ve ended on a better note.” Maddah also admits that he’s having trouble getting fans their refunds.
