For the fifth year in a row, LL Cool J will be playing host at the Grammys,recently announced by The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.
In recent years, in addition to hosting the event he has performed music, including a track from his most recent LP Authentic. It’s a far cry from his classic years, that featured tracks like “Radio” in the mid 80’s, but at least the consistent host of this musical event has some talent that corresponds to the general purpose of the show.
Some say his ability as a host is suspect to question, but with the abundance of speeches and performances any ill-effects brought upon by Cool J’s shtick should be easily overseen.
The fifty-eighth annual Grammy Awards show will take place on Feb. 15 of next year and be aired on CBS.
