Alt-metal band Baroness have released a new song, “Try To Disappear”, which will be included on their new album Purple. The band has also used social media to their advantage, launching a Twitter campaign to reveal new songs, at the hashtag #FindPurple.
The band has been hard at work recently in an effort to showcase the new material from the album. New songs from the release have premiered in both live and studio variations.
“Try To Disappear” features an inspired vocal performance combined with progressive instrumentals, while keeping the heavy nature of the band’s sound intact. It’s a very layered song, one that clearly utilizes a variety of influences in the cannon of metal music.
The new album will be the Georgia-based band’s fourth, following their 2012 release, Yellow & Green. Anticipation for it should be quite high from the metal community, due to the band’s aforementioned campaign on social media to release the tracks individually. At the least, it has kept the band’s current fanbase plenty entertained.
Baroness is also currently on tour, finishing up a fall run of shows that concludes this Sunday in Brooklyn. Stay tuned to see if the band has any plans to announce more dates as the Spring and Summer festival season approaches.
