Scottish rock band Primal Scream have announced that their next album, Chaosmosis, will be released March 18, 2016, via First International.

Chaosmosis will be the group’s eleventh studio album, following 2013’s More Light. Primal Scream toured following that album’s release, in spring 2014, including date at Austin Psych Fest that year. Though they haven’t had new material since summer 2013, they also performed at Levitation Festival/Austin Psych Fest 2015 in May.

Primal Scream was formed in 1982 in Glasgow, Scotland. Since then they’ve had a number of lineup changes – it has been more than three decades, after all – but co-founder and vocalist Bobby Gillespie remains a constant in the band. As mentioned, they have now recorded 11 full-length studio albums, and they have also won a Mercury Prize and two NME Awards. The Mercury Prize is given to the artist with the best album from the UK and Ireland each year, and Primal Scream won in 1992 for their album Screamadelica. The NME Awards, founded by NME magazine, are based in the UK and take place every year to celebrate greatness in music.
