Lana Del Rey performed the song “Prisoner” with The Weeknd last night, during his show in Los Angeles at the Forum. Abel Tesfaye, known by his stage name The Weeknd, brought the beautiful, and sultry singer on stage with him to perform the song, according to Pitchfork.
The soulful voice of The Weeknd blends well with Del Rey during this coolaboration. Concert attendees were given a special treat. The two perform perfectly side-by-side, each singing their heart out in regard to love and the restraints it at times holds us prisoner. A beautifully executed performance.
The Weeknd is a succesful Canadian born singer who has enjoyed success, most noteably, 2015’s single “Can’t Feel My Face” which was very well recieved upon fans and critics, and was also nominated for two Grammy awards.
The song “Prisoner” comes off the latest album from The Weeknd, Beauty Behind the Madness, which was released in August of this year.
In recent lana Del Rey news, it has been stated that the singer would have recorded the theme song for the new Bond film, but the singer says she was never asked.
“”I would’ve done it if I was asked, but I wasn’t asked,” she told NME. “I love all of the Bond music that’s been put out over the years and I love soundtracks in general. There are a couple of songs on this record [Honeymoon] that have a Bond feel like ‘24’ and ‘Swan Song’.” (via Pitchfork)
