Soulwax, the electronic/rock group are happy and proud to announce that they have composed the soundtrack for the movie, Belgica.
The movie is the newest film by Oscar-nominated director Felix Van Groeningen who was also previously nominated for Best Foreign Language in 2014 with “The Broken Circle Breakdown”.
According to the press release, the film is one that will take viewers on a very in-depth, and unapologetic story of two brothers who open a bar in Ghent in 2000, and quickly see the themselves becoming ingulfed in the night scene that belongs to Belgium. If you are familiar with Soulwax, then you probably feel that the premise of the movie is a perfect match for the fast-paced, in-your-face, and movement-heavy sounds of the group.
Soulwax was heavily involved in the film’s soundtrack. Everything from composing, arranging, and even creating the fictional music artists who are to be featured in the film. This is a project that has been 12 months in the making, according to the press release.
Belgica has been nentered into the highly-acclaimed Sundance Film Festival set to take place in January. By the looks of the trailer, this movie is sure to captivate audiences with a little taste of the bar and club life, which we all know comes with some debauchary.

Soulwax has had their share of success with remixes that were done on behalf of Daft Punk, Gorillaz and LCD Soundsystem. This soundtrack hopes to add to the list of accomplishments under Soulwax’s belt.
