The beautiful and talented Shana Halligan has just released her newest video for the song “Get Gone”.
The spunky song matches its video with the Halligan clad in an almost Gatsby-like wardrobe. She soulfully sways her way around the video pulling listeners in both through her vocals and visual class. With switches between color and black and white, the video is simulating, and its lyrics and tempo are incredibly catchy.
According to mso.com this video and song combination is a little different in comparisons to Halligan’s previous work. Halligan had wonderful things to say about her freeing experience filming the video and being able to “stand on her own” performance wise. She had this to say about the experience (via msopr.com):
“Shooting the ‘Get Gone’ video was such an empowering experience for me. No longer hiding behind any band name, standing up for myself, and having my husband and three week old baby by my side, I couldn’t have felt more raw, real and actually perfectly glamorous,” says Halligan. “Working with the incredibly talented director Danger Dave was a beautiful experience. He truly sees me for who I am and allowed me to just simply be that, captured through the eyes of a gorgeous vintage lens.
Halligan is well-known as the lead singer/songwriter for Bitter:Sweet. She has sold over 500,000 records and has seen her work make appearances in popular television and film. Shows like “Sex in the City”, “The Blacklist” and “Orange is the New Black” are just a few shows that have used her music according to her website.
“Get Gone” appears on Halligan’s latest album BACK TO ME.
