After the devastating terrorist attacks in Paris less than a month ago, a portion of which occurred at an Eagles of Death Metal show at the Bataclan venue, the band invited any musical act of any genre to cover their song “I Love You All The Time”. The proceeds will go to The Sweet Stuff Foundation, an organization founded to give assistance to musicians and their families struggling with disability and illness. UK band Savages recently took them up on the offer.
The band recently performed La Maroquinerie in Paris, and covered the song live. The rendition of the song is an inspired one, and was certainly appreciated by the French audience, indicated by the cheers during the introduction of the tune.
This bit of good press could be beneficial to Savages, who are set to release their new LP Adore Life in January 2016. Following the album release will be an international tour starting in February.
As for Eagles of Death Metal, the band released their latest album Zipper Down in October, but have understandably decided to cancel of the remaining tour dates in support of the album in the aftermath of the attacks.
Yet, their latest request for other bands and artists to come together in support of the victims in the attack is an admirable one. A great showcase to the world how music can inspire, heal and alleviate the damage done by the most evil people who walk the Earth.
