Animal Collective Announce New Album Painting With For February 2016 Release

Experimental pop group, Animal Collective have just announced their tenth studio album, Painting With.

Animal Collective have just released their new album’s first single, “FloriDada.” According to Pitchfork, this is the first single from the album, which was debuted in the Baltimore airport just last week. The new album is called Painting With and is the follow up to Animal Collective’s 2012 release, Cenripede Gz. The track and track list for the new album can be found below.

The fresh track is the perfect glimpse into the bands much anticipated tenth studio album. The track sounds like a warped spin on a catchy Beach Boys song. This particular comparison is interesting being that the album was recorded in the same studio that The Beach Boys have has sessions in. The perfect song to sit back with a smile on and snap your fingers to, “FloriDada” is a fun feel good jam where the creative goofiness makes it anyone’s song.
Paint With was recorded at the EastWest Studios in Los Angeles by Panda Bear, Avey Tare and Geologist, according to Pitchfork. Other contributions for the album came from John Cale and Colin Stetson.

There will be three different cover arts for the new album and each one will be a different painting of a different band member. Each painting is a colorful mutation of the band member’s face that sees them lost in the different aspects of art with a sort of wandering look to their eyes. Each painting was done by Brian DeGraw and each is very different from the other.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
