Wilco‘s Jeff Tweedy is working on a memoir that will retell his experiences throughout his journey in music.
Dutton, a part of Penguin Random House, will publish the book after winning a bidding war against other publication companies. Tweedy‘s book deal is estimated to be worth in the mid-six figures. The autobiography does not have a title or release date as of right now.
Sources hope the memoir will explore several aspects of Tweedy‘s life like the details of Reprise Records initially rejecting Yankee Hotel Foxtrot in 2002. In addition, there may be personal retellings of Tweedy’s struggles with addiction, chronic migraines, rehab, and more recently his brother’s death and wife’s battle with cancer .
Tweedy says, “I have stories to tell, and I’d like for this book to be a combination of those stories about my experiences, and maybe a window into one person’s creative process, as well as some of what I’ve seen working with other artists in my current and former bands, in the studio, on the road, in my basement with my sons and more.”
