Hatsune Miku Announces Spring 2016 Tour Dates

Global entertainment superstar phenomenon Hatsune Miku has just announced that she will headline her first North American Tour.

With her performance on Letterman early in October for Hatsune Miku the question was, “Will we see tour from her?” Well Miku has just announced her first ever North American Tour to kick off on April 23rd and run a span of a six-city headlining stint. The Hatsune Miku Expo 2016 North American Tour will visit such big cities as Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas, Los Angeles, Toronto and New York, with more cities yet to be announced. The tour is promised to be a “seminal moment in entertainment history” by the act’s press release. Tour dates and ticketing information for the Hatsune Miku Expo can be found below.

After the hologram of the late Tupac took the stage, it was really only a matter of time before a virtual 3D performer had the world in an uproar. Miku is a digitalized microphone waving 16 year old that stands 5’2” with two long blue pony tails that was literally born to perform. This Japanese pop star is not a stand-alone hologram but one that does require the support of a machine but she is still the first of her kind as a cyber celebrity.

While the focus is mostly on the revolutionary CG technology behind the Hatsune Miku 3D live show, the talent of her backing band is not something that should go unnoticed, after all this is still a musical performance. Miku has released over 170,000 songs that have attracked over 100 million hits on Youtube, two top 10 singles and thousands of various artwork featuring the star. The songs that have been selected for Miku to perform come from thousands of compositions that are created by artists from all over the world. Hatsune Miku is created by Crypton Future Media and is the product of a “revolutionary music software program that gives creators the ability to produce original music with a synthesized voice,” as stated in the press release.

This upcoming tour will be one that will forever resonate in the history of entertainment both musically and technologically. It will be the most talked about event in entertainment this spring that will catch the attention of people from all over the world.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
