WATCH: Bring Me The Horizon Release New Video For “True Friends”

Bring Me the Horizon have released the video for “True Friends” off their That’s the Spiritalbum. The video was directed by Bring Me the Horizon’s own Oli Sykes.

The video is centered on a murder mystery that unfolds within a seven minute video. The detective, Steve Oram, is being haunted by his own skeletons in the closet. The lyrics bring the video to life reminding us that a video can be a powerful storytelling tool. The detective gets various subliminal and not so subtle messages thrown at him that determines his fate. The video should really be a short film with a must-see chilling ending.

Bring Me the Horizon have progressed in their sound with their latest album. Oliver Sykes, lead singer, told The Pulse Of Radio how that came about. “Really, we were wrapping up Sempiternal, and we just felt like we’d progressed a lot just in that short space of time since releasing Sempiternal and touring it, so, yeah, I guess when we finished the campaign, we just really felt like we had a big opportunity. Like, Sempiternal really got us out to the public a lot more than the previous record and stuff, and it felt like people were waiting to see what we did next and people were really hungry for it, you know what I mean? So we just wanted to take the opportunity and really smash it out of the park, I guess.” There is also a visual change we can see with the video for “True Friends.”

Bring Me the Horizon is currently on their European leg of the tour having just finished their North American tour.
