Foo Fighters Announce New Season Of Sonic Highways

Foo Fighters have announced a second installment of their Sonic Highways HBO series with a possible over seas theme.

Earlier this week the Foo Fighters let picture leak onto social media, specifically on guitarists Chris Shiflett’s account, that included a plane. The plane had the bands logo written on the turbine and “Sonic Highways” across the body of the plane with the tag reading “Air Foo.” According to Consequence of Sound, the picture started a series of rumors and sparked a fire of curiosity among the band’s fan community. The rumors and questions that were asked were pretty reasonable, considering the picture, and that was whether or not it meant that the second Sonic Highways project would see an international setting. In response to these questions NME has posted an interview video, seen below, that gave the Foos a chance to explain themselves, even though Grohl had a little too much fun with playful ignorance.

As seen in the video, Grohl doesn’t give on simple answer to all the rumours but does touch base on all of them. He says things like, “It might or might not be international. It might someday be international. It might only be England, or be England and other places, or maybe it’s places in America and people from other countries that are inspired by these places in America.” That being said he did seem to express his obvious admiration toward England’s bolstering music scene by saying, “I mean of all places in the world, England and the UK just seems like it would be like shooting fish in a barrel, ya know? There’s just so fucking much here.” Following the wild success of the first Sonic Highways series and the accompanying album, the excitement for the second series is greatly understood. While mentioning that some days Grohl will wake up and dread having to spend another year and a half on this second series as well as the absolute exhaustion of the first season, he has yet to announce an official time line for the second release. He ends by saying, “I’m sure it’ll happen someday; I’m just not sure when.”
