Huntress’ Jill Janus Announce The Band Is Allegedly Breaking Up

Huntress frontwoman Jill Janus made an announcement that marked the end of the California metal band. The band has released three full length albums, the most recent, Staticon Sept. 25 of this year.

Janus made it known earlier this year that she suffers from a variety of mental health issues including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. In addition, she beat uterine cancer by way of a hysterectomy. The recovery from the cancer forced the band to withdraw from their scheduled tour with Avatar, to allow Janus to heal.

Janus’ announcement, which has since been deleted, of the breakup was brief and cited her illnesses as a primary reason. She also said that since she has completed the trilogy of Huntress albums, she is ready to move on. A desire was noted to continue to create music.

“On my terms, she added.” “F- the meaningless noise and trolls. My way forever. Suck it. Done.”

However, guitarist Blake Meahl made a conflicting statement the next day, claiming that Janus’ announcement was unfounded. He said that her mental health issues have been particularly difficult lately, and that the band will continue intact.

Huntress is currently slated to play six dates with Black Label Society to finish out the year. Fans of the band should continue to monitor what seems to be a fluid situation due to Janus’ aforementioned health issues.
