Alternative singer-songwriter Meg Myers is back with a video for the third single, “Lemon Eyes,” from her Sorry album.
“Lemon Eyes,” which Myers premiered in August, is performing well on the alternative radio charts and currently stands within the Top 25 singles. The track has the angst of a 1990s alt-rock song, with Myers’ simultaneously soft and cutting vocals front and center. It has a steady beat, with a particularly grungy guitar and heavy drum beats in the chorus.
The video opens up on a small SUV driving up to an RV in the middle of a desert, reminiscent of pop culture staples like Breaking Bad or The Hills Have Eyes. The video cuts between scenes of Myers alternately hanging out at the RV and making a trip to a local convenience store. The last thing you see in the video may surprise you, but no spoilers here. Watch it yourself below.
Myers previously released a music video for “Sorry,” the title track of her debut album, and released a song called “Motel.” She is currently headlining a tour throughout North America in support of Sorry. She will also be joining AWOLNATION on tour starting at the end of October, at Pomona’s Fox Theatre.
