Savages have officially announced the follow-up to their 2013 debut album, Silence Yourself. The English quartet hopes to build on a successful first LP, presenting a distinct philosophy toward their sophomore effort.
The band has been observing their audiences worldwide, and as a result have adopted a message of positivity and appreciation. The video for lead single, “The Answer”, showcases their fans up close and personal in the midst of a live performance. The band has seemed to form a tight bond with their fanbase just by recognizing their attendance in concert. Moreover, it has made it obvious that their music is still relevant.
“Loud guitar music is still alive and still connects people,” the band said.
Savages have certainly had the time to come to these conclusions. They are currently on a Fall tour in support of the new release. Next to play a set in Bristol, UK on Oct. 23, the band will hope to garner more anticipation for the album.
There are times when bands make their motives and ideas ambiguous to the public. Savages certainly do not follow suit and have made their message clear in the months leading up to the new album. In addition to fan appreciation, they also incorporate intangible themes into the scope of the record.
“It’s about music and the message: together, one and the same,” the band said. “It’s about opening-out, and never, ever dying. But most of all it’s about love, every kind of love. Love is the answer.”
Adore Life will be released on Jan. 22 on Matador Records.
