Queen Announce Special 40th Anniversary “Bohemian Rhapsody” Release For Record Store Day

Freddie Mercury may be a poor boy and nobody loves him, but ironically Queen is releasing special 40th anniversary edition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Record Store Day. Record Store Day will release the album on Black Friday, November 27, as special edition limited 12-inch vinyl with original B-side single “I’m In Love With My Car.” All of the offers for this Queen special are all on the Record Store Day website.

Earlier this week, Rock Eagle Entertainment would be releasing the special edition video of Queen, A Night At The Odeon, Live At Hammersmith ’75. The concert video of Queen Invite You To A Night at the Opera UK Tour will be sold as a Blu-Ray disc. It was the first tour done by Queen which includes a live performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The CD, 2 LP vinyl and Super Deluxe Box Set formats for the audio version of the Hammersmith performance will be done through Holllywood Records.

Although the popularity of the hit song from A Night at the Opera later became known through the classic headbanging car clip from Wayne’s World, the song never ceases to amaze the times as a song, and a period, that cannot be repeated. The song was awarded the Classic Song Award forty years after it was released on October 31, 1975 at the Q Awards in London yesterday evening. This classic hit song of the previous century is still important to this day, in the revelation of recent American political decisions to legalize gay marriage and encourage more testing on sexually transmitted diseases for the low-income populations that cannot afford access to certain health care systems, as well as offering free AIDS/HIV screenings for the general public. Over the years many other musician have done their covers of the infamous tune from Queen, Kanye West, Axl Rose, Elton John, Pink, and The Flaming Lips.
