LISTEN: Moby & The Void Pacific Choir Release New Song “Almost Loved”

Moby pairs up with a new band, The Void Pacific Choir, to release a new song “Almost Loved.” The new project band is simply one of Moby’s latest creations. “Normally when people refer to a void, it’s a big, dark, scary, thing” said Moby about the new band, “where if you stare too long into the it, it stares back into you. But we like the paradox of a pacific, peaceful void – a benign emptiness.” Although the quote is a bit of a cryptic message to what Moby and Void Pacific Choir intend to create, little is known about the cryptic videos and music that has been previously released.

The new single is often odd sound with synthesizers, post punk gears grinding away at the howling choir in animal heads, and cryptic sounds altogether. While Moby and his new project have released a video for “Almost Loved” on their website, you can bet it is just as cryptic and odd as the other single “The Light Is Clear In My Eyes.” You are definitely not in Kansas anymore when you hear these strange sounds. However, much like the quotes Moby and the new project often say in their music videos that can be found on YouTube, there is definitely enough left for interpretation as you watch the odd visuals dance around on your computer screen.
