Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit – Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett’s debut album – explores “how the most beautiful things come from the most mundane.” And now, fans can enjoy a new conclusion to the record.

The last track on Sometimes I Sit and Think, “Boxing Day Blues,” is “a wistfully hazy, low-key bummer of track.” Barnett released a new version this week, titled “Boxing Day Blues (Revisited),” which can be heard below:

Barnett had announced earlier this month that a new 7″ single, produced by Jack White, would be coming out in November. “Boxing Day Blues (Revisited)” seems to have been completed early, as we wait for the release of the other side of the record: a Boys Next Door cover of “Shivers.”

The revisited track has a heavy swing beat, a faster tempo and revamped melody, making it a more upbeat and lighter track than the original “Boxing Day Blues.” It’s sound still has roots in jazz, keeping it true to its name, as do the lyrics – she asks over again, “Why don’t you feel for me anymore?”

The track is available to purchase at Third Man Records. She is currently finishing up the leg of her North American tour; she ends this month in Japan, continues on to Europe and the UK and finishes with dates in seven cities in Australia. Tickets are available here.
