Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, and Rage Against The Machine’s, Tom Morello teamed up with Roger Waters to perform “Comfortable Numb” for a benefit performance.
This rare performance happened at the Music Heals benefit concert in Washington, D.C. and featured assists from Tom Conley who is an injured Marine who lost both his legs in an Afghanistan bombing, G.E. Smith and the MusiCorps Wounded Warrior Band. Proceeds from this event went on to support MusiCorps, a non-profit found to aid injured soldiers and their families. According to SPIN, Waters also played “When The Tigers Broke Free”, off The Wall, live for the very first time.
The night ended with Corgan, Water, Morello and friends covering Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young.”
