Hot Chip are set to release a new four track EP entitled Dancing In The Dark, this Friday October 23. The band shared their video for the full-length version of “Dancing In The Dark”, directed by Kieran Evans.
The live footage was recorded this summer on Super 8 at Webster Hall in New York City. It features cameos from David Byrne and Sinkane, who joined Hot Chip onstage for this song, and splices of ’80s TV shows. The video is a combination of Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The U.S.A classic “Dancing In The Dark” and LCD Soundsystem’s “All My Friends”. The band gets into “All My Friends” at about the 5 minute mark. They have been performing it live during their headline sets this year including Glastonbury, Governors Ball and other festivals throughout the summer.
The EP also features a reworking of “Cry For You” taken out of their critically acclaimed recent album, Why Make Sense? The songs will appear on a deluxe version of Why Make Sense?, due out October 24. The EP also includes a remix of their single “Huarache Lights.”
