After two years, Deerhunter’s brand new EP Fading Frontier just came out this past Friday with some incredible new material to dive headfirst into. They just kicked off their fall 2015 tour stretching as long as January. Despite being busy with their new release and on the road, they’ve graced us with a video for the track “Living My Life” here.
You can check out their video for “Living My Life” through Youtube.
Deerhunter definitely plays with some interesting abstract and gestural concepts in their videos, making their material visually appealing and artistically interesting. You’ll get caught up in the sheer number of textures, backgrounds, scenes and colours that manage to flash through in a record amount of time in a perfect rhythm. It highlights the very unique human sound Deerhunter has as a band, and how effortlessly they pull it off.
According to Spin, you’ll see band members hanging out, a dog joining them, and plenty of shapes and scenes to blur the lines between a realistic video and an abstract art concept. It’s interesting how they blend the two concepts, while still managing to highlight interesting parts of the track “Living My Life”.
Be sure to keep an eye out for more Deerhunter news as they’re on tour for the rest of the year. Chill back, relax, and turn their new EP on for a great week.
