Will Butler’s first solo album Policy definitely has some incredible tracks on there, “Anna” being one of them, as well as “Madonna Can’t Save Me Now”. After the album was released in March, Will Butler’s been on an incredible streak promoting his solo stuff at events like SXSW 2015 and now with a new music video for “Anna.”
Previously released, we had a lyric video of this track released early 2015. However, this new retro styled one features Emma Stone, who really takes it upon herself to light up this video with her quirky captivating energy. From the classic red lipstick to the incredibly times choreography, this entire video will have you mesmerized within the first six seconds.
You can see her dedication throughout the video – she totally throws herself headfirst into this one. Consequence of Sound put it wonderfully:
She gives one sailor’s cheek a big ole lick and throws money in the air like she just don’t care, but it’s her precise moves (choreographed by Sia/FKA twigs collaborator Ryan Heffington) and flawless facial expressions that deserve the biggest applause — girl is committed to this role.
“Anna” has a really fun video though, there’s no doubt about that. Will Butler’s solo work is catchy and unique, definitely giving some good vibes so far with his first release. But if there’s one thing you’ll absolutely have to do it’s watch Emma Stone fall head over heels (quite literally) between wads of cash and spiffy sailors in this perfectly timed video.
