LISTEN: Eleanor Friedberger Releases New Song “False Alphabet City”

Eleanor Friedberger just released her newest rock single “False Alphabet City” and will be embarking on a Fall Tour as well this year.

Eleanor Freidberger has released new song, which is her first new release since her 2013 album, Personal Record. The song is titled “False Alphabet City” and is a script adaptation of a movie That Freidberger was in called False Alphabets. This Sara Magenheimer video-based artwork was about “language, music and the radio voice as a life-line in our contemporary atmosphere of cultural alienation.” In the film Freidberger plays a New York City radio DJ, who is the “voice of the city.” False Alphabet city will be Freidberger’s first as signee to New York City’s seminal indie label Frenchkiss Records. The new track can be listened to below.

The new single will not be the last we hear from Friedberger as she will be embarking on a small tour as well. She is set to play a couple intimate shows in select cities this fall. The shows are said to be loaded with new material, as well as favorites from her previous two records, Last Summer and Personal Record. Both records received very high regards from critics and would be a great loss if they weren’t included in this tour. The tour dates are all listed below.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
