Paul Bergmann has shared the video for “Wishing Song” featuring Emily Kokal of Warpaint. The video was self directed by Bergmann through a glass prism while in Los Angeles’ Echo Park.
The song itself is by far the most calming and serene sound you will probably hear today. Both voices meshed together almost sound like a voice curated by an angel. The video itself fits well with the vibe of the song. Not making too much of a plot but just keeping it simple in the park with the trippy aesthetics. The song comes off his new Romantic Thoughts EP. The video was released on Pitchfork along with a statement of Bergmann speaking of the song.
Bergmann says of the song:
It evokes a sense of longing in me that is very plain and truthful. It’s also a clear nod at Woody Guthrie, who got me out of a really dark time a few years ago. While I was working on my Romantic Thoughts EP, I ran into Emily at a party. After hanging out til four a.m., we drunkenly made a pact to record a song together. I immediately thought of “Wishing Song” and knew it would fit her like a glove.
