Singer/songwriter Torres has covered the track “Special” by Garbage, in honor of touring with the band this upcoming fall.
The Brooklyn-based singer recently released her sophomore album, Sprinter, via Partisan Records. Songs from the album include her newest release, “Cowboy Guilt”, and the title track “Sprinter,” for which there is also a video.
Now, Torres has released her cover of “Special,” which can originally be found on Garbage’s 1998 album Version 2.0. The six-minute cover, which is twice as long as the original, can be described has “sonically darker and [more] hypnotic” than the original track. The attitude of this release goes hand in hand with the majority of Sprinter.
Torres’s and Garbage’s collaborative tour began on Friday and will continue until Thursday, Oct. 29. The tour will reach 13 different states.
