A previously unreleased demo by alternative rock singer/songwriter Alanis Morisette will be released on the upcoming re-issue of her classic album Jagged Little Pill, according to Consequence of Sound.
The Jagged Little Pill re-issue, via Rhino Records, is in celebration of the album’s 20th anniversary. This collector’s item will feature four discs including “a re-mastered copy of the album, a disc of unreleased bonus material, a previously unreleased London concert circa 1995, and a copy of 2005’s Jagged Little Pill Acoustic,” according to Consequence of Sound.
The second disc, featuring unreleased tracks, will feature a song that has never been heard before, “Closer Than You Might Believe.” Morisette told Rolling Stone the track was co-written by Glen Ballard before the writing of Jagged Little Pill.
Regarding the song, Morisette further explained-
This song was about my lamenting the fact that I was relegated to the ‘friend zone’ with someone I cared deeply about in a romantic way. I had yet to begin writing as intensely or autobiographically.
