Wavves released a new song “Pony,” from their album, V, that comes out this October. The band is currently on tour at the moment, but the new single is interesting to learn about.
“Pony” is about phobias that the band members face during certain moments within their life or are still seeking treatment for their deep set fears. Agoraphobia, sleepwalking, teeth grinding, time wasting, night terrors, toxic relationships, and Web MD among the list of problems each band member has been diagnosed with or continues to inhabit within their life. But while the album talks about these topics individually, this song is an attributing love song to the uncomplicated and easy parts of life, such as love. If you have ever been in a situation where it was nothing but love, nothing with a string or an excuse to get a ring, then that is simply what this song is about.
“Pony” is the fifth single form the album. Other singles from V, include “Heavy Metal Detox,” “Flamezesz,” “Way Too Much,” and “My Head Hurts.” So while singer, Nathan is pining for affection from the true love he desires, the intention of being a person afraid of sunlight can dream that one day she’ll give him some love in return.
