Disclosure has released a new single “Magnets” featuring singer/songwriter Lorde.
The electronic duo announced the release via twitter, giving fans a video preview to the song with a link to a free download if fans pre-order their forthcoming album, as reported by NME. “Magnets,” which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Radio1 show, provides all the aspects of a hit song, providing a a strong vocalist and a pop-song structure that still delivers beats reminiscent of the duo’s earlier works.
“We very quickly figured out this interesting concept which I kind of wanted to write about for a while,” said Lorde in an interview with Zane Lowe. “The song is about that moment that you realize you’re about to do something that’s wrong and you’re not in your right mind because you’re blinded by how badly you wanna do whatever it is.”
“Magnets” is one of the many collaborations on their sophomore album,Caracal, which also includes The Weeknd, Miguel and Sam Smith. Lorde and Disclosure previously worked together whileperforming a reworking of the songstress’ hit “Royals” at the 2014 BRIT Awards.
Disclosure has also shared “Hourglass” and “Jaded” from Caracal. The album is set to be released September 25th via Capitol Records.
