Amanda Palmer welcomed her son into the world after 24 hours of labor. The new mother shared the beautiful moment in a heartwarming photo of newborn Anthony, born at 8:37 a.m. on September 16, on Patreon.
Palmer experienced the “crazy, beautiful trip” of childbirth at home with three “magical” midwives and her friend, Whitney, at her side. Her husband, Neil Gaiman, confirmed through a statement on Facebook:
Yes, there’s news. He’s very small, and perfect. Mother and son are doing wonderfully. He’s now 5 days old.
After the announcement of an upcoming album in collaboration with her father and a spring tour after the publishing of her book, Palmer will be laying low for a period, relishing the birth of her son. She elaborated:
Please forgive my total lack of online presence for a while…I’m so happy to be spending the time away from the the phone and the computer and doing the only thing I want to do right now…at home, in the quiet woods, all three of us falling in love with each other after our long long journey together. We’re exhausted.
Congratulations and best wishes to the family on their awaiting journey!
