Allman Brothers Band and Gov’t Mule guitarist Warren Haynes will kick off his Fall 2015 Tour in support of his new album, Ashes and Dust
The Ashes and Dust World Tour 2015 will kick off on September 22 in Kansas City, MO, make it’s way from the east coast to west coast and will head to Europe in 2016. His third solo album, which was released back in July is a departure from his mega blues bombast and lustful guitar licks that powered the Allmans and the Mule. This time around, Haynes lightens his load and moves his musical direction into the arena of acoustic instruments and Americana music territory. Employing acoustic guitars, banjo and fiddle on this recording give the songs a serene yet deep flavor. His soulful voice sits well within the music and his guitar solos are subdued but tasteful nonetheless. The album includes a cool, haunting cover version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman” which features Haynes singing a duet with rocker Grace Potter. Read a full review of Ashes and Dust.
Haynes will be backed for every show by The Ashes & Dust Band which will consist of acclaimed Nashville progressive Americana/bluegrass trio ChessBoxer and renowned drummer Jeff Sipe. The tour will also feature different special guests from the south. Nashville’s own Chris Stapleton, forefather of Contemporary Americana, Justin Townes Earle, Louisiana folk artisan, Gill Landry, and southern rock revivalist, Jonathan Tyler will be showcasing their music in different cities.
UPDATE: Haynes added dates to his tour for both fall 2015 and winter/spring 2016. See the full, updated list of dates below.
