As Deafheaven gear up to embark on a tour in support of their upcoming release, New Bermuda, they’ve shared a new single from the album, titled “Come Back.”
The nine-minute song begins in a frenzy of heavy guitars paired again lead singer George Clarke’s intense vocals and as the song goes on transitions into a softer melody. “Come Back” seems to recognize polarized genres in the rock spectrum; providing the listener with the tendencies of black metal, to a more alternative sound that recognizes the pop-punk of early 2000’s, to the shoegaze era from the 90’s.
This is the second song release off of New Bermuda, which Clarke describes as, ‘a new destination in life, a nebulous point of arrival, and an unknown future where things get swallowed up and dragged into darkness.’ The band shared their first single “Brought to the Water” just last month. New Bermuda is set to be released October 2nd via Epitaph.
