Wrestling is one element to the new band Wavves in their video “Way Too Much.” The single is from their new album, V, which comes out in October. Other singles from the new album include “My Head Hurts,” “Heavy Metal Detox,” and “Flamezesz.”
The video takes place at the Underground Empire Wrestling events that includes an interview by frontman Nathan Williams. The video shows the violence in professional wrestling. Baseball bats with thumbtacks and duct tape to metal chairs covered in blood are some of the scenes that happen throughout the video. There are occasions in the video where people are thrown out of the wrestling ring while doing a match against each other.
The frontman of Wavves is a big fan of professional wrestling, but the event taking place in the video is about the bloodiest event the frontman ever saw with his own eyes. “I have wrestling parties at my house every Monday and Thursday for Raw and SmackDown; we’ll barbecue and watch. I’ve been a fan for 20 years now – but the UEW event, it was crazy,” says Williams.
Wavves has completed two hometown shows in Los Angeles that were both sold out and are hitting the road for a national tour throughout October. Fans can pre-order the new album and can purchase it as either a CD or Vinyl bundle. The digital download is available for pre-order through iTunes.
