LISTEN: Doomstarks Release New Song “Lively Hood”

Ghostface Killah and DOOM have joined to form Doomstarks and released a new song “Lively Hood.”

Adult Swim’s Singles Program for 2015 is still in full swing with their recent release of DOOMSTARKS’ new single “Lively Hood.” The mash up between Ghostface Killuh and DOOM is any rap fan’s fantasy come to life and Adult Swim seized the chance to include them in their program. According to Consequence of Sound, Jason DeMarco who monitors anything that has to do with Adult Swim music said:

“We reached out to DOOM to see if he was interested in giving us a track, and were told that the DOOMSTARKS project was close to completion and there was a song we could have… we jumped on it! I mean, it’s Ghost and DOOM rapping together. It’s pretty much my rap nerd dreams coming true.”

The Adult Swim program is the simple guarantee that they will feature a new original song on Soundcloud for free download every week this summer. That entails a 19 week stint of new music from June 8 until October 12.
DOOMSTARKS is not the only group to be included in the 2015 Adult Swim lineup. The program will include tracks from Slayer, Shabazz Palaces, Danny Brown and Clams Casino, Peaches, Swervedriver, Yung Lean and Own Pallett, Flying Lotus and Run the Jewels.

The single just as rhythmically gritty and intense as anything else DOOMSTARKS has released in the past. An album has been rumored via a Reddit AMA with Ghostface back in December and the hint they have to DeMarco about their nearly completed “project.” While these are simply rumors right now, fans can catch the duo at the III Points Festival in Miami on October 9-11. According to a press release for the festival DOOMSTARKS will be debuting some of their music from this rumored album.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
