We’re almost to the magic date of September 25th: the day Disclosure’s new album Caracel is released. However until then, the electronic duo gives us a new music video for their rhythmic track “Hourglass”.
Featuring a red and black colour scheme as well as silhouettes of dancers, the simplicity of the music video highlights the electronic elements within “Hourglass”. There’s no denying this track has a great electronic sound and focuses on getting the audience involved and dancing. It’s a power track and it sounds like we’re hopefully going to here plenty of tracks like this on Caracel.
Although the video is simple, you’ll notice how the design highlights the important moments in the song showing off Disclosure’s real talent to feel the energy in an electronic track. It’s definitely worth taking a look at, as you’ll probably find yourself wanting to move within the first ten seconds.
According to Pitchfork, “Hourglass” is a collaboration between Disclosure and Lion Babe that was performed at the Wild Life festival this past June. Lion Babe said the following about the process of collaborating with Disclosure:
This is the first time I have done a ‘feature’ record and I am glad it was with Disclosure. Not only am I a genuine fan of them, but I love house music and thought it would be a great collaboration and opportunity.
This isn’t out of the blue; leading up to the release of Caracel has seen the release of another music video for “Holding On”. Caracel is sure to be a game changing album, with collaborations with The Weeknd, Lorde, and Jordan Rakei to name a few.
Be sure to check out the video for “Hourglass” and get ready for Caracel’s release later this month.
