Last month, Lana Del Rey announced a brand new album,Honeymoon, set for a September 11th release, and earlier this week released a sampler of the album that includes a clip of “Music To Watch Boys To,” her newly released single.
Premiering on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 station, “Music To Watch Boys To” is yet another haunting single by the singer/songwriter which showcases the echo of her sultry vocals against her experimental instrumentals; mixing lounge music with hints of hip-hop.
The single is yet another collaboration with “Summertime Sadness” co-writer Rick Boyles and apparently had been the initial choice as her lead single until Del Rey’s label switch to “High By the Beach,” according to Consequence of Sound.
“I always want to take advantage of feeling inspired because you don’t feel that way all the time,” said the singer regarding her the forthcoming album. “The jumping-off point was the end of the other one. I wasn’t feeling too tired, still feeling inspired like I could keep going.”
