It’s official. Big Grams, aka Big Boi + Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter of Phantogram, have just announced that their highly-anticipated EP is now complete and will feature tracks with both Run the Jewels and Skrillex. The self-titled project is scheduled for a September 25th release.
Big Grams has been in the works for quite some time now. Collaborative energy began after the Sir Lucious Leftfoot and Phantogram joined forces on “CPU,” which was featured on Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors in 2012. After the two announced that they were working on new EP, the taste of their musical potential together quickly developed into an electric reality. While Big Grams announced that the EP was complete last August, we now have the full tracklisting as well as an official release date. We’re looking at a 7-track EP with major additions including Run the Jewels on “Born to Shine,” and Skrillex on “Drum Machine.” With so many musical forces coming together on its release, Big Grams is sure to present a major statement in 2015 about the genre-smashing beauty of modern production.
