Dinosaur Jr.’s Lou Barlow just released a video for his new single “Repeat” off of his latest solo album, Brace the Wave (out today!). The video depicts life on tour, embracing each and every “long stretch of boredom” (Spin). The artist spends his time transporting numerous bags from one hotel room to another, attempting to facetime doll, never succeeding, washing his clothes in hotel sinks, and strumming various tunes on his guitar. The video serves as a visual image of the loneliness and boredom that so many artists feel while on the road, a fact not well known by fans and the public.
Barlow is an American rock musician and songwriter; he is a founding member of Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh and The Folk Implosion. The artist aided in pioneering the “lo-fi” style of rock in the late 80s, early 90’s. Brace The Wave will be the artist’s first solo album since 2009 and will be released via Joyful Noise Recordings. Recently, Lou Barlow has announced his appearance at Desert Stars, and performed at The Roxy with Dinosaur Jr.
