The final lineup of Swans will be the most important part of the group to date. The new album, The Gate, by the Swans is being sold by Michael Gira on the group’s website. The cover art will be created by Nicole Boitos. But for each copy, Gira will sign each copy personally.
The album can be purchased in different formats and bundles which will include different copies of the album entirely. The track listing of the album will have six live songs and four long unrecorded pieces and four long unrecorded pieces. There will also be four solo demos from Gira that he plans to re-orchestrate and re-record for the new album. Fans can pre-order the Gate from Young God Records on their website.
The sad news about the band’s final album came from their Facebook page early this year, following the success of their tour for their previous album, To Be Kind.
