Big Star’s Alex Chilton, Suicide’s Alan Vega And Ben Vaughn Announce Reissue Of Cubist Blues

Musicians Alex Chilton of Big Star, Alan Vega of Suicide and singer-songwriter, Ben Vaughn will reissue a 1996 music album titled Cubist Blues. The songs were written in two days in New York City following an experimental taste the supergroup created. The album will be re-released December of this year in vinyl and will include a download card of the band’s two shows they performed: The Mercury Lounge in New York City from December 4 in 1996, along with The Trans Musicales Festival from December 7 in 1996.

The album is significant to the origins of the supergroup because it was the only album that they made and supported with one concert in Rennes, France known as the Trans Musicales Festival. It signifies the roots of how the group was created, with different styles of musical taste that either artists brought to the table.

The album reissue is part of a bigger collection of video and audio downloads from the group, which include the original album and two videos of their concerts. It is part of the Cubist Blues Archival Series package. The group has offered links for the download or streaming of either album or concerts, and more with individual passwords for both links.

If you want the password for downloading the album, biographies of the group members, as well as notes and photos, the password is fatcity. If you want the password for streaming a live concert and photos, the password is loveroflove.
