Adult Swim Singles is back today with a new release from Slayer. “Cast The First Stone” is taken from the bands upcoming album Repentless, which is set for release September 11.
The release comes on the heels of the band playing live shows in support of the album, notably headlining this years Mayhem Festival. The 12-track album is the bands first effort since their 2011 Grammy-nominated War Painted Blood.
Adult Swim, which was launched in 2001, is television program that airs from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The Singles program has been an original Adult Swim tradition since 2009. The program consists of artists releasing a new song for free every week during the summer. This year the series has been stretched to 19 weeks, with the final week in October seeing the release of several bonus tracks. The list of artists included this year ranged from Shabazz, Peaches and Sia to Danny Brown, Run The Jewels, Flying Lotus and many more. There’s only 6 singles left to be released for the rest of this Singles program.
