Austin trio Boss Battle premiered their debut single, “Ride”, from their forthcoming album, Attack Time which is set to be released September 11.
Vocalist/keyboardist Erin Frazier and vocalist/guitarist Chico Jones often share the mic simultaneously often making for overlapping male/female voices throughout the song. You can hear in “Ride” it’s a constant pull back and forth between vocalists as well as layered, precise sounds from drummer Benjamin Kent. The trio combines sounds from Industrial 90s groups like Pigface and Ministry. While the song delivers the elements of rock, Boss Battle doesn’t fail to demonstrate the art of a pop hook.
Jones also owns Ohm Recording Studio in Austin, Texas, where the band recorded the album over multiple sessions.
Boss Battles hits the road starting tomorrow in the Southwest and West Coast with tour-mates Sky Acre.
