Carrie Brownstein Announces Book Tour

On October 27 Carrie Brownstein of Sleater-Kinney will release her memoir Hunger Makes Me Modern GirlToday she announced a book tour that will span over just under a month throughout the country.

In the memoir Brownstein talks about growing up in the Pacific Northwest and forming the three-woman punk-rock band that is Sleater-Kinney, which recently reunited after their dissolution in 2006. Each event will feature a guest interviewer, including Questlove, Amy Poehler, Dave Eggers, “Saturday Night Live” star Aidy Bryant, actress Gaby Hoffman, Pitchfork Senior Editor Jessica Hopper, and more. “I tried to pick people who I thought would approach the subject matter and me as a person from different angles, ” Brownstein said of her interviewers.

The Chicago event, taking place October 30 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, is presented by Pitchfork and the MCA’s “In Sight Out” series. This event is sold out.
