English rock band Motörhead have released their cover of “Sympathy for the Devil” by The Rolling Stones, according to Stereogum.
The cover can be heard on the band’s upcoming album, Bad Magic, which will be released on Friday, Aug. 28.
“Sympathy for the Devil” was originally a light, playful track featuring the smooth vocals of Sir Mick Jagger, the tribal sounds of conga drums, and a collection of harmonious “woo-woo’s” in the background.
Now, infused with that heavy Motörhead sound, “Sympathy for the Devil” features vocalist Lemmy’s rough vocals and gritty growls, more intense percussion, and an increased presence of rock-n-roll guitar riffs.
