New York band Coheed and Cambria released a new video for their track “You Got Spirit, Kid”. The alternative/progressive rock group really made a great track with this one, including catchy riffs and lyrics that take being yourself to another level. It’s fun and fits the group well, along with the fact they made a hilarious video to go along with it.
The video for “You Got Spirit, Kid” takes all the classic high school stereotypes and throws them into one video. You’ll be thrown back to your high school’s gymnasium and memories of cliques, social standing, and pep rallies will come flooding back. Coheed and Cambria hit the right amount of nostalgia that made you remember how ridiculous it all was. The story follows four “high schoolers” in severely different social groups, including the nerd, the jock, the stoner and many more throughout the course of the video.
It’s a hilarious video that really takes advantage of all of the generic stereotypes to go along with the great track. The song is all about rolling with the punches, continuing to be yourself and ignoring what other people say. What other scene would fit perfectly with this scenario than high school?
“You Got Spirit, Kid” is the single off of Coheed and Cambria’s new album The Color Before The Sun, set for release on October 9th. Not only do we have new material from the band, but they’ve also just announced their fall 2015 tour dates. Coheed and Cambria are really promoting this new album, as it surely is hardcopy of the raw emotion the band is so well known for. You can preorder The Color Before The Sun here.
