The Anglo-French music group Savages will be on tour this fall for the follow up album to their 2013 Silence Yourself. The tour will also consist of the new record with electronic producer Trentemøller in Copenhagen. Their single “Adore” was played at the Mercury Lounge this past January. The single is a torch about emotional guilt. But while writing some of the new songs for the album, Jenny Beth from Savages says that she was writing happy and lighthearted songs, something that the band’s style is not known for.

Next month, Savages will also partake in Doug Aitken’s “living art project” Station to Station at London’s Barbican, performing a specially created collaboration with A Dead Forest Index. Every performance done towards the groups new songs, was recorded and every audience reaction heeded, with the results influencing what Savages preserved, honed, and ditched. The tour dates will run from the last two weeks in August and into late October. The locations range from the west coast of the States to England.

Before the tour dates were mentioned for their second album, the group did road trip accross the United States to see if the tour and the album can be a success with their fans. For nine nights at various venues in downtown Manhattan and Brooklyn, Beth growled and moaned into the microphone while guitarist Gemma Thompson, bassist Ayse Hassan, and drummer Fay Milton locked into a blistering drone behind her — and the trial run was a success.
