Hot Chip have released video for new single “Started Right,” which was taken from the band’s new album, Why Make Sense?. The new video was directed by Rollo Jackson. The video starts out with being brought to life with karaoke and colorful visuals. The video is almost like an old remembrance of simpler times where everything was fun and simple. The lyrics written by Alexis Taylor are tender and soft in comparison to the visuals that are colorful and mesmerizing.

The band also featured as takeover guests in July on BBC 6 Music and also made live performance of “Started Right” on Conan. The band is currently wrapping up their North American dates, following a sold out UK and European tour and two sold out nights at New York’s Webster Hall where the band were joined by the likes of David Byrne, Nancy Whang from LCD Soundsystem and Sinkane for dance party closing medley of “Dancing In The Dark” and “All My Friends.” The band played Los Angeles’ famed Greek Theatre last night, as well as visiting KCRW for a Morning Becomes Eclectic session the same day.

On top of the band’s live dates, front man Alexis Taylor has also announced his only solo show of the year playing the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of David Byrne’s Meltdown Festival later in August of this year as a co-headline with artist Lonnie Holley. Taylor will also be performing as part of the William Onyeabor ‘Atomic Bomb’ live show at Meltdown next week.
